"Like a Rock" Bull Bison Sculpture

 It's funny how a 1 ton animal can utterly disappear in a landscape of stunted sage brush and small boulders. There are times when hiking in Yellowstone where one of those "boulders" suddenly turns into a living, breathing being right before your eyes. The small sketch reflects that amazing animal, a bull bison just before its magical transformation from rock to giant mammal.
